Kerry M Thomas

Kerry M. Thomas is a prominent equine therapist, educator, and consultant specializing in equine behavioral psychology and cognitive theory in horse training, selection, and breeding. He is known for his expertise in equine PTSD and trauma assessment, as well as for developing the Sensory Soundness theory and Sensory Mapping. In 2008, he created the Thomas Herding Technique (THT), which fosters trust and communication between horses and humans by understanding their natural instincts. In 2011, he founded THT Bloodstock to analyze herd dynamics in thoroughbred racing, but he dissolved this venture in 2024 to focus on his new initiative, www.sensorysoundness.com. Through this platform, he conducts clinics, creates educational programs, and lectures globally, enhancing relationships between horse owners and their animals. Thomas's insights, derived from years of studying wild horses, have influenced the equestrian community and contributed to identifying top equine athletes. He has been featured in major publications and media, including the Wall Street Journal, and hosts a podcast series on Herd Dynamics.
